"Moving Forward - Get your campaign strategy in order

Just like an election campaign, your branding and marketing tools need to work together to keep your messages clear and consistent to build your story.

Consider these points:
• What do your voters want?
• What is your company’s election pledge – what are you offering your voters?
• Would your debate worms be positive or negative? Are you connecting with your voters?
• Does your staff believe in what you are doing? i.e. no leaks?
• If you are relatively new or unknown, you need to communicate your history of achievement. Rather than react to a jibe from your opposition or dissatisfied voters, build your case and back it up with testimonials.
• Keep it simple – too many complex themes will confuse people and devalue your key messages.
• Make your call to action motivational rather than just educational – inspire people to act on what they learn about you, whether it’s buying your product or simply becoming your fan on Facebook.
• Unlike the political arena, scare tactics and slur campaigns have no place in business communications. Keep your communications friendly and professional.
• If you get it right, clients new and old will flock to support you.
